Health Care in the Village

Mio

The limited health facilities in the village are one of the main problems faced by the community. Various obstacles, such as, minimal facilities limited medical personnel hinder the access of village communities to proper health services, thus having a negative impact on their health and well-being.

This is also felt by the people of Naru village, Bajawa District, Ngata Regency regarding health services at the Naru village Polindes. Polindes, or village maternity post, is a health service facility located in the village to provide health services for mothers and children.

Polindes is also a from of community health business (UKBM) established by the local community. Polindes is managed by the agency under the supervision of PKM doctors.

Even though they already have a Polindes, the local community often complains, especially about the services at the Polindes. It can be said that the health facilities at the Naru village Polindes have low quality services. Where in Naru there are only 3 medical personnel who have to take care of more tan 200 families and more than 2000 people. Not only that, medical equipment is also inadequate and the medicines are incomplete, as a result patients do not get optimal treatment. Most of the affected groups are pregnant women and babies so they are most susceptible to disease and malnutrition. In addition, the Naru village health post has only one building size and only 2 rooms. With a building size that is not so large so people feel uncomfortable and prefer to stand outside. This is a very serious problem that is happening today, especially since it concerns human health.

Therefore, health facilities in the village need solutions that involve the government and health organizations. If this is not resolved immediately it will have a bad impact and lead to death.
