Candlenut is a Southeast Asian secret and known as kemeri in Indonesia and kukui in Hawaii.  As its name implies, the natural oil content is so concentrated that when it is alighted it is a ready made source of light.

As a food additive, when toasted, candlenut creates the smoothest of sauces and a deep ground for your flavor accents. For cosmetics, candlenut provides a soothing emolument for healthy skin and hair.

The best Kemeri grows on the Island Flores with highest concentration of essential oils.

We use a freeze technique for opening the stubborn outer shells.  Once frozen the inner nut can resist the required pressure needed to crack the shell.  In this way our Kemeri maintains its integrity.
